Combined Senegal - Mauritania

This 4×4 circuit allows you to discover Senegal from Saint Louis to the Banc d’Arguin National Park, created in 1976 and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. located between Nouakchott and Nouadhibou, 12,000 km2 both sea and land, which runs along the Atlantic coast for more than 180 kilometers. A unique ecosystem makes it possible to observe a large number of migratory water birds.
It is inhabited by the Imraguens, a fishing people who have lived along the coast for several centuries.
The Diawling National Park, created in 1991, covers approximately 16,000 hectares in the Senegal River delta. Its waters are full of different species of African-type birds (spade-billed herons, cormorants, etc.) and migrants (ducks, waders, etc.). “Fishing” stays The fishing environment, in particular on the Banc d’Arguin and near Nouadhibou, offers many possibilities.

The Diawling-Nouakchott
Long day of transfer by tar to Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania. Here we are in Moorish country, a city in the middle of the sand. Small visit of the city, Overnight at the hotel.

Nouakchott – Cape Tafarit
Departure towards Cape Tafarit This magnificent place next to the village of Arkeiss has a rocky promontory giving a 180 degree view of the sea, overhanging. The camp is the quietest in the park and it is also a superb spot for sport fishing.

Iwik-Nouakchott
Departure to Nouakchott, capital of Mauritania, you will discover during a panoramic tour, the different districts: Teyaret, the Ksar, Toujounine, Tevrakh Zeina, Sebkha and El Mina. This city with very few high-rise buildings is dominated by the minarets of the two mosques: Saudi in the North and Moroccan in the South. You will visit the National Museum, which traces the life of Mauritanians, where various tools, models, manuscripts and various objects brought back by caravans for millennia are exhibited. This museum also houses the national library, visit the Nouakchott market where men trade on the ground floor and women upstairs. At the end of the day, your guide will take you to the fishing port of Nouakchott and then you will go to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
