The route:

Arrival in Nouakchott. (Atar) Reception at the airport.

Departure by 4×4 for Chinguetti, the 7th holy city of Islam, dating from the 11th century, with its dry stone houses and its famous mosque declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

We then continue towards zarga, We see on the horizon the beautiful mountain of Mount Zarga which rises from the sands and which marks the beginning of the Adrar plateau.

Always in the dunes and always the mountain of Zarga, We continue in the erg Ouarane. Perhaps we will have the chance to observe an arrowhead or a polished stone from the Neolithic period. At the end of the afternoon, ascent of Mount Zarga by a magnificent path on the dunes. Playful descent.

Departure towards the crater of Aouelloul. It is one of the smallest known meteorite impact craters. It was discovered at the end of the 1930s by A. Pourquié and Théodore Monod of the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, who published a description of it in volume 13 of the IFAN review. (Monod. 1951). But it was known from time immemorial by local people who called it “hofrath A’welloul”.

We leave in the direction of the mountain of Chatou in the middle of the El Abiod wadi, then towards the oasis of Tougag.

We leave for the summit of the Tifoujar pass, the view is impressive, a cut of 200 meters in height literally throws itself into the EL-Abiod wadi at the bottom of the white valley,

We leave in the morning towards the pass of N’Tourvine. Magnificent scenery, arrival at Terjit where an oasis of thermal waters awaits us with wonderful basins in which we can bathe.

Transfer by 4×4 to Nouakchott. (Atar) and transfer to the airport.
